Vision

The Total Faith Development vision is to provide a family campus, promoting healthily maturing lifestyles through nurturing an environment of educational, vocational, and spiritual opportunities within the Rockford area and vicinity. The first phase of our vision is mentoring within RPS205 and community at large.

Mission

Total Faith Development Inc. is a group of Christian Servants called to uplift and empower the community through educational opportunities, mentoring, health initiatives and spiritual development.

Purpose

To provide mentors as role models for community youth. Promote character, self esteem,  motivation to prepare them for future success academically and socially.

Total Faith Development, Inc., (TFD) is a faith-based 501C3 non-profit corporation formed by the TFCC to serve the needs of children and families living in the Rockford area and vicinity.  Total Faith Development, Inc. was established with a vision to promote healthy, maturing lifestyles through nurturing an environment of educational, vocational and, spiritual opportunities.

Total Faith Community Church (TFCC) Board of Directors is a multi-ethnic and multi-racial congregation, located in South-East Rockford, Illinois. While our church building is physically located in South-East Rockford, our members live on both sides of the Rock River and bring their perspectives and views on life into a body of Christ focused on service to an undivided community.

In 2017, TFD became aware of the educational challenges facing African American students in the Rockford School District 205.  With the support and leadership of Reverend Steve Cossey, former Pastor of TFCC and a Rockford School District retiree, we were able to help the school district redirect and engage many African American male students back into the classroom through mentorship at West Middle School. This experience led to our decision to offer the resources of the church to support the needs of other children and families throughout the city.

Current regional and local data reveal that African American children and families have some of the greatest needs for help and support in all areas surveyed.  From this data we conclude that supporting them would yield the most effective outcomes based on our talents and resources.  We currently partner with RPS205 to support this effort by providing a Mentor Program for 4th and 5th grade boys at Ellis Elementary School waiving all fees or charge to RPS205.    Our intent is also to provide mentoring services to parents of school age children.

Please feel free to contact us for further discussion on how we can jointly develop support and relationships to fill the needs of our community.
